The absolutely mind-boggling position of Republican candidate, Ron Paul, who has written the following astounding statements:
"One can understand why (the mullahs) might want to become nuclear-capable, if only to defend themselves and be treated more respectfully," Paul has written. The congressman opposes economic sanctions on Iran. He opposes pre-emptive strikes on Iran. Indeed, Paul has indicated he does not have a problem with Iran acquiring nuclear weapons because he doesn't think mullahs in Iran would actually use such weapons against their enemies. What's more, he has stated that he would not come to Israel's defense if Iran fired nuclear weapons at the Jewish state.
By the way, if you think Iran won't do anything to
illuminate Israel, then let me include the words of Ayatollah
Khomeini who judged that the
elimination of the State of Israel is a religious duty similar to other duties
to which all Muslims are committed. The
verses of the Quran which discuss the Jews are always applicable, and there is
no other people about which the Quran warns the Muslims as much as the Jews
Iran, Turkey, and Russia along with countries
from North Africa will come against Israel. You can read about it in Ezekiel
chapters 38 & 39 written around 500 BC. The players in this battle
are given there ancient names, but they are still identifiable. By the way,
little Israel wins in what appears to be a nuclear exchange, did I mention this
was written in 500 BC.
This is the reason I won't support Ron Paul, even though I
agree with him economically. To do so would be to go against the Word of God
when he told Abraham, the father of the Jewish people, "And I will bless those who bless
you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the
families of the earth will be blessed." Genesis 12:3
